Security and Related Activities (Control) Act 1996

Security and Related Activities (Control) Amendment Regulations 2024

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

1.Citation

These regulations are the Security and Related Activities (Control) Amendment Regulations 2024.

2.Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

(a)regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website;

(b)the rest of the regulations — on the day after that day.

3.Regulations amended

These regulations amend the Security and Related Activities (Control) Regulations 1997.

4.Regulation 13A amended

(1)At the beginning of regulation 13A insert:

 

(1)In this regulation —

accountant means a member of —

(a)Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand ARBN 084 642 571; or

(b)CPA Australia Ltd ACN 008 392 452; or

(c)the Institute of Public Accountants Ltd ACN 004 130 643.

 

(2)In regulation 13A delete “The following persons” and insert:

(3)In regulation 13A:

(a)after paragraph (d) insert:

 

(daa)an accountant while acting in the ordinary course of the accountant’s profession;

 

(b)in paragraph (e) delete “(da) or (d),” and insert:

 

(da), (d) or (daa),

 

(c)in paragraph (e) delete “person’s inquiry or investigation.” and insert:

 

person’s inquiry, investigation or profession.
