Dangerous Goods Safety Act 2004
Dangerous Goods Safety (Explosives) Amendment Regulations 2024
Made by the Governor in Executive Council.
These regulations come into operation as follows —
(a)regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website;
(b)the rest of the regulations — on the day on which the Firearms Act 2024 section 440 comes into operation.
These regulations amend the Dangerous Goods Safety (Explosives) Regulations 2007.
In regulation 3 in the definition of gun delete “firearm, as that term is defined in the Firearms Act 1973,” and insert:
firearm, as defined in the Firearms Act 2024 section 6,
5.Schedule 4 clause 5 replaced
Delete Schedule 4 clause 5 and insert:
5.Ammunition, ammunition propellant and black powder
A person may possess ammunition, ammunition propellant or black powder if authorised under the Firearms Act 2024 to do so.
Delete Schedule 5 clause 1(b) and insert:
(b)the person is authorised under the Firearms Act 2024 to manufacture the ammunition; and
In Schedule 8 clause 5 delete “Firearms Act 1973” and insert:
Firearms Act 2024
(1)In Schedule 9 clause 5(1) delete “Firearms Act 1973” and insert:
Firearms Act 2024
(2)In Schedule 9 clause 5(3) delete “holds a licence under the Firearms Act 1973 that authorises the person” and insert:
is authorised under the Firearms Act 2024
