Road Traffic (Administration) Act 2008

Road Traffic (Administration) Amendment Regulations (No. 3) 2026

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

1.Citation

These regulations are the Road Traffic (Administration) Amendment Regulations (No. 3) 2026.

2.Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

(a)regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website;

(b)the rest of the regulations — on the day after that day.

3.Regulations amended

These regulations amend the Road Traffic (Administration) Regulations 2014.

4.Regulation 8A amended

Delete regulation 8A(2)(a) and insert:

 

(a)in relation to the chief executive officer of the Department of the Premier and Cabinet, or a nominated employee, prescribed under regulation 7(2)(q) —

(i)to verify and disclose a person’s relevant information to a relying chief executive officer through a digital identity exchange; and

(ii)to use driver’s licence information, permit information and vehicle licence information relating to a person for the purposes of administering or assisting in the administration of a scheme for the provision of payments or other assistance as a cost of living relief measure;

 

5.Regulation 9A amended

After regulation 9A(2) insert:

 

(2A)For section 143A(1)(d), an officer of the department of the Public Service principally assisting in the administration of the Act may make use of driver’s licence information, permit information and vehicle licence information relating to a person to administer or assist in the administration of a scheme for the provision of payments or other assistance as a cost of living relief measure.
