Road Traffic (Vehicles) Act 2012

Road Traffic (Vehicles) Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2026

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

1.Citation

These regulations are the Road Traffic (Vehicles) Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2026.

2.Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

(a)regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website;

(b)the rest of the regulations — on 4 September 2026.

3.Regulations amended

These regulations amend the Road Traffic (Vehicles) Regulations 2014.

4.Regulation 31 amended

In regulation 31(1A)(b) delete “1 month; or” and insert:

 

1 year, 6 months, 3 months or 1 month; or

 

5.Regulation 31A amended

(1)In regulation 31A(2):

(a)in paragraph (a) delete “monthly renewal of the vehicle licence; and” and insert:

 

paying a renewal charge by direct debit for the vehicle licence; and

 

(b)in paragraph (f) delete “if the vehicle licence is not currently for a period of 1 month pursuant to an election under regulation 31(1A)(b) —”.

(2)In regulation 31A(3), delete “monthly renewal of that vehicle licence.” and insert:

 

paying a renewal charge by direct debit for that vehicle licence.

 

Note: The heading to amended regulation 31A is to read:

Renewal of vehicle licence by direct debit

6.Regulation 99 amended

In regulation 99(1A):

(a)delete “$1.75” and insert:

 

the following amount

 

(b)delete “bank account.” and insert:

 

bank account —

(a)for a renewal of 1 year — $9.50;

(b)for a renewal of 6 months — $7.35;

(c)for a renewal of 3 months — $3.95;

(d)for a renewal of 1 month — $1.75.
