Aboriginal Heritage (Marandoo) Act 1992

An Act concerning the application of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 and for related purposes.

1.Short title

This Act may be cited as the Aboriginal Heritage (Marandoo) Act 1992 1.

2.Commencement

This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent 1.

3.Disapplication of Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972

(1)The Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 does not apply to any place that is on land described in Part 1 of Schedule 1, Part 1 of Schedule 2, or Part 1 of Schedule 3, or to any object situated on or under any of that land.

(2)The reference in subsection (1) to the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 includes a reference to any condition imposed or other thing done under that Act before the commencement of this Act.

(3)Nothing in the Government Agreements Act 1979 or any Government agreement within the meaning given to that expression by that Act affects the operation of this Act.
