1.Citation

These regulations may be cited as the Rates and Charges (Rebates and Deferments) Regulations 1992 1.

2.Urban drainage charges

A charge made under the Land Drainage Act 1925 for the provision of urban drainage is prescribed for the purposes of paragraph (c) of the definition of “prescribed charge” in section 3(1) of the Act.

3.Maximum limit for rebate

The limit on the amount of rebate that an eligible senior is to be allowed on a prescribed charge referred to in section 40(5)(a) of the Act is — 

(a)where the charge relates to the provision of a service during a rating year commencing after 30 June 1999 but not after 30 June 2000 —

(i)in the case of a charge for water supply ...............................................


$60.90;

(ii)in the case of a charge for sewerage

$98.55;

(iii)in the case of a charge for drainage ..

$11.65;

and

(b)where the charge relates to the provision of a service during a rating year commencing after 30 June 2000 but not after 30 June 2001 —

(i)in the case of a charge for water supply ...............................................


$ 62.15;

(ii)in the case of a charge for sewerage

$100.55;

(iii)in the case of a charge for drainage ..

$ 11.90.

4.Allowances prescribed for the purposes of section 23

Under section 23(1)(aa)(v) of the Act the following allowances are prescribed for the purposes of section 23 of the Act — 

(a)the Mature Age Allowance;

(b)the Mature Age Partner Allowance;

(c)the Parenting Allowance;

(d)the Partner Allowance; and

(e)the Widow Allowance.
