Fire and Emergency Services Amendment Act 2015
An Act to amend the Fire and Emergency Services Act 1998.
[Assented to 26 August 2015]
The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:
This is the Fire and Emergency Services Amendment Act 2015.
This Act comes into operation as follows —
(a)sections 1 and 2 — on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent;
(b)the rest of the Act — on the day after that day.
This Act amends the Fire and Emergency Services Act 1998.
After section 18O insert:
Part 4A — Bush fire prone areas
18P.FES Commissioner may designate bush fire prone areas
(1)The FES Commissioner may, by order published in the Gazette, designate an area of the State as a bush fire prone area if satisfied that the area is subject, or likely to be subject, to bush fires.
(2)The FES Commissioner may, by order published in the Gazette, amend or revoke an order published under subsection (1).
