Electricity Distribution Access (Renewable Energy) Order 2000
This order may be cited as the Electricity Distribution Access (Renewable Energy) Order 2000.
This order comes into operation on 1 October 2000.
In this order —
“access” means access to spare capacity and new capacity;
“distribution exit point” has the same meaning as it has in the Electricity Distribution Regulations 1997;
“renewable source” means a source of energy that is not derived from a fossil fuel or a man‑made nuclear fission process.
4.Access — electricity generated from renewable sources
Under clause 2(1) of Schedule 6 to the Act, the corporation is to make available access to an existing or prospective user for the transport of electricity generated from a renewable source if —
(a)the electricity is to be transported to a single distribution exit point; and
(b)the amount of electricity to be transported is to be at least 300 megawatt hours in the period of 12 months beginning on the day on and from which the existing or prospective user wants access to be made available.
