COVID‑19 Response Legislation Amendment (Extension of Expiring Provisions) Act 2020
An Act to amend the following to extend the operation of provisions relating to the COVID‑19 pandemic —
·The Criminal Code;
·the Criminal Code Amendment (COVID‑19 Response) Act 2020;
·the Emergency Management Amendment (COVID‑19 Response) Act 2020.
[Assented to 19 November 2020]
The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:
This is the COVID‑19 Response Legislation Amendment (Extension of Expiring Provisions) Act 2020.
This Act comes into operation as follows —
(a)Part 1 — on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent;
(b)the rest of the Act — on the day after that day.
Part 2 — The Criminal Code amended
This Part amends The Criminal Code.
In section 318(1A) delete “12 months” and insert:
15 months
In section 338B(2) delete “12 months” and insert:
15 months
Part 3 — Criminal Code Amendment (COVID‑19 Response) Act 2020 amended
This Part amends the Criminal Code Amendment (COVID‑19 Response) Act 2020.
In section 2(b) delete “the day after the period of 12 months beginning on the day after assent day;” and insert:
4 July 2021;
Part 4 — Emergency Management Amendment (COVID‑19 Response) Act 2020 amended
This Part amends the Emergency Management Amendment (COVID‑19 Response) Act 2020.
In section 2(c) delete “the day after the period of 12 months beginning on the day after assent day;” and insert:
4 July 2021;
