Water Boards Amendment Act 2003

No. 22 of 2003

An Act to amend the Water Boards Act 1904.

 

[Assented to 23 April 2003]

 

The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

1.           Short title

             This Act may be cited as the Water Boards Amendment Act 2003.

2.           Commencement

             This Act comes into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

3.           The Act amended

             The amendments in this Act are to the Water Boards Act 1904*.

4.           Section 29 replaced

             Section 29 is repealed and the following section is inserted instead —

29.         Remuneration and allowances

    (1)    Each member is to be paid from the Water Fund such remuneration and allowances as the Minister, on the recommendation of the Minister for Public Sector Management, determines in the case of that member.

    (2)    Remuneration is not to be paid to a member who holds a full-time office or position that is remunerated out of moneys appropriated by Parliament.

5.           Section 111 amended

             Section 111(1) is amended as follows:

 

                 (a)    by deleting the full stop after paragraph (f) and inserting instead a semicolon;

                 (b)    by inserting after paragraph (f) the following paragraph —

    (g)    In the payment of remuneration and allowances to the members of the Water Board.
