Attorney General Regulations Amendment (Criminal Law Mental Impairment) Regulations 2024

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

Part 1 — Preliminary

1.Citation

These regulations are the Attorney General Regulations Amendment (Criminal Law Mental Impairment) Regulations 2024.

2.Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

(a)Part 1 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website;

(b)the rest of the regulations — on 1 September 2024.

Part 2 — Freedom of Information Regulations 1993 amended

3.Regulations amended

This Part amends the Freedom of Information Regulations 1993.

4.Schedule 2 amended

In Schedule 2 column 2 delete “Mentally Impaired Accused Review Board” and insert:

Mental Impairment Review Tribunal

Part 3 — Legal Profession Uniform Law Application Regulations 2022 amended

5.Regulations amended

This Part amends the Legal Profession Uniform Law Application Regulations 2022.

6.Regulation 35 amended

Delete regulation 35(3)(e)(ix) and insert:

(ix)the office of the Mental Impairment Review Tribunal established by the Criminal Law (Mental Impairment) Act 2023;
