Transport (Road Passenger Services) Act 2018

Transport (Road Passenger Services) Amendment Regulations (No. 4) 2024

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

1.Citation

These regulations are the Transport (Road Passenger Services) Amendment Regulations (No. 4) 2024.

2.Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

(a)regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website;

(b)the rest of the regulations — on the day on which the Firearms Act 2024 section 440 comes into operation.

3.Regulations amended

These regulations amend the Transport (Road Passenger Services) Regulations 2020.

4.Schedule 2 clause 1 amended

(1)In Schedule 2 clause 1 in the Table delete “Firearms Act 1973” (1st occurrence) and insert:

 

Firearms Act 1973, as in force immediately before the Firearms Act 2024 section 440 comes into operation

 

(2)In Schedule 2 clause 1 in the Table items 12 and 13 delete “Firearms Act 1973” and insert:

 

Firearms Act 1973, as in force immediately before the Firearms Act 2024 section 440 comes into operation,

 

(3)In Schedule 2 clause 1 in the Table after item 13 insert:

 

Firearms Act 2024

13A.

Offence under the Firearms Act 2024 if an offender is liable to a penalty of imprisonment for more than 2 years

 

10 years

13B.

Offence under the Firearms Act 2024 (other than an offence under section 39(7) of that Act) if an offender is liable to a penalty of imprisonment for at least 12 months but no more than 2 years

 

12 months

 

5.Schedule 3 clause 1 amended

(1)In Schedule 3 clause 1 in the Table delete “Firearms Act 1973” (1st occurrence) and insert:

 

Firearms Act 1973, as in force immediately before the Firearms Act 2024 section 440 comes into operation

 

(2)In Schedule 3 clause 1 in the Table items 15 and 16 delete “Firearms Act 1973” and insert:

 

Firearms Act 1973, as in force immediately before the Firearms Act 2024 section 440 comes into operation,

 

(3)In Schedule 3 clause 1 in the Table after item 16 insert:

 

Firearms Act 2024

16A.

Offence under the Firearms Act 2024 if an offender is liable to a penalty of imprisonment for more than 2 years

 

10 years

16B.

Offence under the Firearms Act 2024 (other than an offence under section 39(7) of that Act) if an offender is liable to a penalty of imprisonment for at least 12 months but no more than 2 years
