Health Regulations Amendment (Firearms) Regulations 2024

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

Part 1 — Preliminary

1.Citation

These regulations are the Health Regulations Amendment (Firearms) Regulations 2024.

2.Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

(a)Part 1 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website;

(b)the rest of the regulations — on the day on which the Firearms Act 2024 section 440 comes into operation.

Part 2 — Health Services (Conduct and Traffic) Regulations 2016 amended

3.Regulations amended

This Part amends the Health Services (Conduct and Traffic) Regulations 2016.

4.Regulation 7 amended

In regulation 7(1) in the definition of prohibited item paragraph (b) delete “Firearms Act 1973 section 4; or” and insert:

Firearms Act 2024 section 6; or

Part 3 — Radiation Safety (General) Regulations 1983 amended

5.Regulations amended

This Part amends the Radiation Safety (General) Regulations 1983.

6.Regulation 53B amended

In regulation 53B(2)(c) delete “firearm, within the meaning of section 4 of the Firearms Act 1973,” and insert:

firearm, as defined in the Firearms Act 2024 section 6,
