An Act to amend the Conservation and Land Management Act 1984.

[Assented to 24 June 2025]

The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

1.Short title

This is the Conservation and Land Management Amendment Act 2025.

2.Commencement

This Act comes into operation as follows —

(a)sections 1 and 2 — on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent;

(b)the rest of the Act — on the day after that day.

3.Act amended

This Act amends the Conservation and Land Management Act 1984.

4.Section 55 amended

(1)Delete section 55(1a)(c).

(2)After section 55(1a) insert:

(1B)The purpose of timber production cannot be prescribed under subsection (1a)(e).

(1C)In subsection (1B) —

timber production does not include the removal of salvaged forest products in circumstances set out in a regulation that prescribes the removal of salvaged forest products under subsection (1a)(e).

5.Schedule 1 clause 1 amended

(1)In Schedule 1 clause 1(1):

(a)delete “his” and insert:

the member’s

(2)In Schedule 1 clause 1(2):

(a)delete “he” (1st occurrence) and insert:

After Schedule 1 clause 4(4) insert:

(4A)The presence of a person at a meeting of the Commission need not be by attendance in person but may be by that person and each other person at the meeting being simultaneously in contact by telephone or other means of instantaneous communication.
