Energy Regulations Amendment Regulations 2025
Made by the deputy of the Governor in Executive Council.
These regulations come into operation as follows —
(a)Part 1 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website (publication day);
(b)Part 2 — on 1 January 2026;
(c)the rest of the regulations — on the day after publication day.
Part 2 — Electricity Industry (Electricity System and Market) Regulations 2004 amended
This Part amends the Electricity Industry (Electricity System and Market) Regulations 2004.
In regulation 4A delete “20 November 2024.” and insert:
4 June 2025.
At the end of Part 11 insert:
57.Saving and transitional provision for Energy Regulations Amendment Regulations 2025
(1)In this regulation —
commencement day means the day on which the Energy Regulations Amendment Regulations 2025 regulation 4 comes into operation.
(2)Regulation 4A and Schedules 1 and 2 (as if regulation 4A and Schedule 1 had not been amended by the Energy Regulations Amendment Regulations 2025) continue to apply in relation to a contravention, and a continuation of a contravention, of the market rules that occurs, or a decision made under the market rules, during the period —
(a)beginning on the day on which the Electricity Industry Regulations Amendment (Distributed Energy Resources) Regulations 2025 regulation 9 came into operation; and
(b)ending immediately before commencement day.

Part 3 — Electricity Industry (Pilbara Networks) Regulations 2021 amended
This Part amends the Electricity Industry (Pilbara Networks) Regulations 2021.
After regulation 9(6) insert:
(7)Despite anything in this regulation or the Pilbara network rules, the Minister may make amending rules during the period —
(a)beginning on the day on which the Energy Regulations Amendment Regulations 2025 regulation 8 comes into operation; and
(b)ending on 31 October 2027.
Part 4 — Gas Services Information Regulations 2012 amended
This Part amends the Gas Services Information Regulations 2012.
After regulation 7(6) insert:
(7)Despite anything in this regulation or the GSI rules, the Minister may make amending rules during the period beginning on the day on which the Energy Regulations Amendment Regulations 2025 regulation 10 comes into operation and ending on 31 October 2027.
