Veterinary Practice Act 2021

Veterinary Practice Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2025

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

1.Citation

These regulations are the Veterinary Practice Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2025.

2.Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

(a)regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website;

(b)the rest of the regulations — on the day after that day.

3.Regulations amended

These regulations amend the Veterinary Practice Regulations 2022.

4.Regulation 11 amended

Delete regulation 11(2)(ba).

5.Regulation 14 amended

Delete regulation 14(3).

6.Schedule 6 amended

After Schedule 6 item 11 insert:

 

12.

Administering any of the following Schedule 4 poisons to an animal by injection, and possessing those poisons for the purposes of that administration —

(a)non‑steroidal anti‑inflammatory drugs;

(b)local anaesthetics;

(c)sedatives;

(d)tranquillisers;

(e)euthanasia agents;

(f)muscle relaxants;

(g)reversal agents, in conjunction with sedatives or tranquillisers.
