Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act 1998

Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Amendment Regulations 2025

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

1.Citation

These regulations are the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Amendment Regulations 2025.

2.Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

(a)regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website;

(b)the rest of the regulations — on the day after that day.

3.Regulations amended

These regulations amend the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Regulations 1999.

4.Regulation 8 inserted

After regulation 7 insert:

 

8.Prescribed public authorities (Act s. 35B(2))

For the purposes of section 35B(2) of the Act, the Department of Internal Affairs of New Zealand is a public authority within the meaning given in section 35B(1)(c) of the Act.

Note for this regulation:

The Department of Internal Affairs of New Zealand is a department listed in the Public Service Act 2020 (NZ) Schedule 2 Part 1.
