Building Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2026

Made by the deputy of the Governor in Executive Council.

1.Citation

These regulations are the Building Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2026.

2.Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

(a)regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website (publication day);

(b)regulations 3 and 8(1), (3) and (4) — on the day after publication day;

(c)regulations 4, 5 and 6 — on 1 May 2026; and

(d)the rest of the regulations — on the day after the period of 12 months beginning on publication day.

3.Regulations amended

These regulations amend the Building Regulations 2012.

4.Regulation 15C amended

(1)In regulation 15C(4), (5), (7) and (11) delete “(2022 edition)” and insert:

 

(2022 and 2025 editions)

 

(2)In regulation 15C in the note delete “(2022 edition)” and insert:

 

(2022 and 2025 editions)

 

5.Regulation 15D amended

(1)In regulation 15D(2) delete “(2022 edition)” and insert:

 

(2022 and 2025 editions)

 

(2)In regulation 15D in the note delete “(2022 edition)” and insert:

 

(2022 and 2025 editions)

 

6.Regulation 31A amended

After regulation 31A(2) insert:

 

(2A)Subregulation (2)(b) does not apply to the building standards set out in the Building Code (2025 edition) Volume One Part G5 as modified by regulation 15D(2).

 

7.Schedule 4 amended

In Schedule 4 clause 1 in the Table delete the item for Greater Geraldton.

8.Schedule 5 amended

(1)In Schedule 5 in the Table delete the item for Boddington and insert:

 

Boddington

All townsites and areas zoned residential, rural residential or special use by a local planning scheme

 

(2)In Schedule 5 in the Table delete the item for Greater Geraldton and insert:

 

Greater Geraldton

Whole district

 

(3)In Schedule 5 in the Table in the item for Hall’s Creek delete “Hall’s Creek” and insert:

 

Halls Creek

 

(4)In Schedule 5 in the Table delete the item for Harvey and insert:

 

Harvey

All townsites and areas zoned residential or rural residential in the Shire of Harvey local planning scheme

Irwin

Whole district
