Plumbers Licensing Act 1995

Plumbers Licensing and Plumbing Standards Amendment Regulations 2026

Made by the deputy of the Governor in Executive Council.

1.Citation

These regulations are the Plumbers Licensing and Plumbing Standards Amendment Regulations 2026.

2.Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

(a)regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website;

(b)the rest of the regulations — on 1 May 2026.

3.Regulations amended

These regulations amend the Plumbers Licensing and Plumbing Standards Regulations 2000.

4.Regulation 3 amended

In regulation 3(1) in the definition of National Construction Code delete “2022” and insert:

5.Regulation 48 amended

(1)In regulation 48(1)(a) delete “(2), subject to the modifications in regulation 49; and” and insert:

 

(2); and

 

(2)In regulation 48(2)(a):

(a)in subparagraph (ii) delete “B2P11” and insert:

 

B2P12

 

(b)delete subparagraph (iii).

6.Regulation 49 deleted

Delete regulation 49.

7.Regulation 71 amended

In regulation 71(1)(b)(i) delete “as modified in accordance with regulation 49”.

8.Regulation 116 inserted

At the end of Part 9 insert:

 

116.Transitional provision for Plumbers Licensing and Plumbing Standards Amendment Regulations 2026

The plumbing standards that apply on and after 1 May 2026 to plumbing work commenced, but not completed, before that date are the plumbing standards as in force at the time the plumbing work was commenced.
