Building Services (Registration) Act 2011

Building Services (Registration) Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2026

Made by the deputy of the Governor in Executive Council.

1.Citation

These regulations are the Building Services (Registration) Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2026.

2.Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

(a)regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website;

(b)the rest of the regulations — on 1 July 2026.

3.Regulations amended

These regulations amend the Building Services (Registration) Regulations 2011.

4.Regulation 13 amended

(1)In regulation 13(1) delete the definition of exempt shed.

(2)In regulation 13(1) in the definition of builder work:

(a)delete paragraph (b) and insert:

 

(b)with a value (based on the value of the work estimated under Schedule 2) of —

(i)if the work relates to a building that is a Class 10a building under the Building Code — $50 000 or more; or

(ii)otherwise — $20 000 or more;

and

 

(b)delete paragraph (n).

(3)In regulation 13(1) in the definition of building contractor paragraph (c) delete “(company);” and insert:

 

(company).
