Transport Regulations Amendment (Fees and Charges) Regulations 2026

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

Part 1 — Preliminary

1.Citation

These regulations are the Transport Regulations Amendment (Fees and Charges) Regulations 2026.

2.Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

(a)Part 1 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website (publication day);

(b)Part 3 (other than Division 3) — on the day after publication day;

(c)the rest of the regulations — on 1 July 2026.

Part 2 — Road Traffic (Authorisation to Drive) Regulations 2014 amended

3.Regulations amended

This Part amends the Road Traffic (Authorisation to Drive) Regulations 2014.

4.Schedule 9 amended

In Schedule 9:

(a)in item 6(a) delete “48.20” and insert:

(b)in item 6(b) delete “168.00” and insert:

Part 3 — Road Traffic (Vehicles) Regulations 2014 amended

Division 1 — Charges for granting or renewing vehicle licence

5.Regulations amended

This Division amends the Road Traffic (Vehicles) Regulations 2014.

6.Specified day

For the purposes of the Road Traffic (Vehicles) Act 2012 section 18, the specified day in relation to this Division is 1 July 2026.

7.Various charges amended

Amend the provisions listed in the Table as set out in the Table.

Division 2 — Recording fees

8.Regulations amended

This Division amends the Road Traffic (Vehicles) Regulations 2014.

9.Regulation 99 amended

In regulation 99(1) delete “$9.50” and insert:

10.Part 17 Division 6 inserted

At the end of Part 17 insert:

 

Division 6 — Transitional provision relating to Transport Regulations Amendment (Fees and Charges) Regulations 2026 Part 3 Division 2

513.Recording fees

Regulation 99, as in force immediately before the Transport Regulations Amendment (Fees and Charges) Regulations 2026 Part 3 Division 2 comes into operation, continues to apply in relation to —

(a)the grant of a vehicle licence if that licence is granted before 1 July 2026; and

(b)the renewal of a vehicle licence if, in accordance with these regulations, that renewal has effect, or is to be taken to have effect, on and from a day that precedes 1 July 2026.

 

Division 3 — Other fees

11.Regulations amended

This Division amends the Road Traffic (Vehicles) Regulations 2014.

12.Various fees amended

Amend the provisions listed in the Table as set out in the Table.
