Building and Construction Industry Training Fund and Levy Collection Amendment (Petroleum Legislation) Regulations 2026
Made by the Governor in Executive Council.
These regulations come into operation as follows —
(a)regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website;
(b)the rest of the regulations — on the day on which the Petroleum Legislation Amendment Act 2024 sections 3, 176 and 210 come into operation.
These regulations amend the Building and Construction Industry Training Fund and Levy Collection Regulations 1991.
(1)In regulation 3(1):
(a)in paragraph (e) delete “work.” and insert:
work;
(b)after paragraph (e) insert:
(f)GHG operational work.
(2)In regulation 3(2) insert in alphabetical order:
GHG authorisation means a GHG exploration permit, a GHG injection licence or a GHG retention lease as each of those terms is defined in the Petroleum, Geothermal Energy and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 1967 section 5(1);
GHG operation has the meaning given in the Petroleum, Geothermal Energy and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 1967 section 5(1);
GHG operational work means work related to a GHG operation that is authorised by an existing GHG authorisation (unless the work is on, results in, or otherwise relates to, a residential or commercial facility);
(3)In regulation 3(2) in the definition of resources delete paragraphs (b) and (c) and insert:
(b)petroleum as defined in the Petroleum, Geothermal Energy and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 1967 section 5(1);
(c)geothermal energy resources as defined in the Petroleum, Geothermal Energy and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 1967 section 5(1);
(d)a regulated substance as defined in the Petroleum, Geothermal Energy and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 1967 section 5(1);
