Mooring Amendment (Petroleum Legislation) Regulations 2026

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

1.Citation

These regulations are the Mooring Amendment (Petroleum Legislation) Regulations 2026.

2.Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

(a)regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website;

(b)the rest of the regulations — on the day on which the Petroleum Legislation Amendment Act 2024 sections 3, 176 and 210 come into operation.

3.Regulations amended

These regulations amend the Mooring Regulations 1998.

4.Regulation 2 amended

In regulation 2 insert in alphabetical order:

 

GHG operation has the meaning given in the Petroleum, Geothermal Energy and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 1967 section 5(1);

regulated substance has the meaning given in the Petroleum, Geothermal Energy and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 1967 section 5(1);

 

5.Regulation 7L amended

In regulation 7L(1)(a) delete “petroleum or geothermal energy; and” and insert:

 

petroleum, a regulated substance or geothermal energy or carrying out a GHG operation; and

 

6.Regulation 14 amended

In regulation 14(1)(de)(i) delete “petroleum or geothermal energy; or” and insert:

 

petroleum, a regulated substance or geothermal energy or carrying out a GHG operation; or
