State Superannuation Act 2000
State Superannuation Amendment Regulations (No. 3) 2026
Made by the Governor in Executive Council.
These regulations come into operation as follows —
(a)regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website;
(b)the rest of the regulations — on the day after that day.
These regulations amend the State Superannuation Regulations 2001.
(1)In regulation 171 delete the definition of pension day.
(2)In regulation 171 insert in alphabetical order:
fortnightly pay day means 30 July 2026 and each second Thursday following that day;
pension day means —
(a)for a Member who has selected fortnightly pension payments — each fortnightly pay day; and
(b)for a Member who has selected monthly pension payments — the 15th of each month; and
(c)for a Member who has selected quarterly pension payments — the 15th of each of the 4 months selected by the Member under regulation 189(1)(aa); and
(d)for a Member who has selected annual pension payments — the 15th of the month selected by the Member under regulation 189(1)(b);
Delete regulation 189(1)(a) and insert:
(a)whether the Member’s pension is to be paid fortnightly, monthly, quarterly or annually; and
Note: The heading to amended regulation 189 is to read:
Selection of frequency of pension payment
Before regulation 191(1)(a) insert:
(aa)if the Member has selected fortnightly pension payments — 26 or 27, depending on the number of fortnightly pay days that fall within that financial year; or
Note: The heading to amended regulation 191 is to read:
Payment of pension by Board
