Transport (Road Passenger Services) Act 2018
Transport (Road Passenger Services) Amendment Regulations 2026
Made by the Governor in Executive Council.
These regulations come into operation as follows —
(a)regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website;
(b)the rest of the regulations — on 23 July 2026.
These regulations amend the Transport (Road Passenger Services) Regulations 2020.
In regulation 3 in the definition of child care service paragraph (a) delete “(Western Australia)” and insert:

(1)In regulation 10(4):
(a)in paragraph (b)(ii) delete “volunteer.” and insert:
volunteer;
(b)after paragraph (b) insert:
or
(c)if the person is driving the vehicle in the course of their employment or engagement in an ambulance service or a patient transport service; or
(d)if the person is driving the vehicle in the course of duties that the person carries out as a volunteer and the vehicle is being driven to provide an ambulance service or a patient transport service.
(2)After regulation 10(4) insert:
(5)In this regulation —
ambulance service means a service to provide medical or other assistance to persons in an emergency;
patient transport service means a service for the transport of a person who has been, is being, or will or may be provided with health treatment or care.
In regulation 31(2)(a) delete “made available in the approved form at the time of booking” and insert:
made available in the approved form and before the person’s use of the vehicle begins,
In regulation 33(2)(b) delete “a reasonable time before the journey.” and insert:
before the journey begins.
Delete Schedules 4 and 5 and insert:
